Virtual Dedicated Cloud Server - Semi-Managed

Regional Internet offers REAL Cloud Servers, not a simple VPS. What is the difference? A VPS is only a virtual machine running on a physical machine; whereas a cloud server is a highly available cloud server instance running on a highly available, fully redundant cluster of servers and SAN components. Bottom line: it's BETTER than VPS.

VPS vs. Cloud Server

Virtualization is not cloud. While virtualization is an important foundation in building a cloud, virtualization only provides isolation of compute and memory on one physical server or a cluster of servers. Anyone can install a virtualization app like Sun/Oracle VirtualBox on top of their OS or they can install a hypervisor OS like Citrix XenServer, VMware ESXi or Windows Datacenter edition with Hyper-V. However, these are still simply virtualized servers A.K.A. VPS. The layers on top of the virtualization layers and are what constitute “cloud computing.” These come in the form of cloud management tools and orchestration management tools like Microsoft System Center, which is what Regional Internet uses for our Windows Cloud Servers.

Regional Internet's Cloud Servers are running on 100% fully redundant infrastructure, using only the most powerful hardware available today. We have redundant hosts, NICs switches, power, storage and everything else. This is the highest level of cloud computing.
